How to narrow the viewing area of my monitor screen

    Hello To All

I've bought a used Flatron widescreen monitor which i now dislike because it is too wide and I have to scroll sideways to see everything. Can somebody please tell me how to narrow the screen viewing area by telling me how to restore the black bar at each side of the screen showing the required images and text in the center of the screen. Modifying the resolution is not the answer I need. I need to reduce the ViEWING AREA.

Thank you in advance for any help.

    Brad

    Hi Brad

I've just spotted your email so I thought I'd bump this for you.

A few things though, 1) this is a Windows 7 forum and you are running the now obsolete XP, 2) I just don't think your old Time PC will be up to your new monitor, somebody may be able to remember how to sort it but you are using very old kit and from somebody that spent a lot of time in the Time factory back in the day...most of it was junk put together my minimum wage folks that didn't have a clue lol

Anyway it would help if you could let us know what graphics card is in your machine and hopefully somebody can advise you from there.

My old mate bought a Time PC back in 1999, it cost him a grand and I thought it was amazing back then. I wish I knew the specs of it.

I was the IT manager for a couple of their delivery companies and it's a bit much when you are called to a PC factory to replace a floppy drive etc
