    You mean over the vents and fans, right? Can I just use a piece of paper?

    Well I guess I could put it in 10 boxes if I wanted. I decided to just leave it there on my table if it doesn't make a big difference. Would the tightness of the box matter if I were to put it in a box?

    The tightness of the box would only matter if you were moving it - transporting it across town for instance. Only then would you be concerned that it would not bang around inside the box.

My hard drive rattles every time it reads or writes something. Should I worry about this or not? :sarc: I ran chkdsk and there were no bad sectors and the drive passed SMART test. I had this drive for 5 years but nothing has slown down. The hard drive is a Seagate ST3160815AS.

Hello All, As my thread title says I am getting a rattling noise from my PSU fan. It only does this on cold starts. Once my computer warms up the noise dies away. Should I replace my PSU or just use it.

Hard drive won't stop rattling

Ever since installing Win 7. Often for 5 to 10 minutes. Thought it was Avast (from task manager processes), uninstalled Avast, still the thing won't stop except very ocassionally when I'm doing specific tasks. Is this normal (mem paging, etc)? I'm ready to go back to XP.
