My PC stopped recognizing my Video card

Hello, this morning my pc worked fine, I left it alone for a few hours and when I turned it on again my screens were black. The pc is not recognizing my GF8500 GT. I downloaded and tried to install a new driver but the installation software does not recognize the card either.

i had that couple times, when my video card came out just enough to not make good connection due to thermal cycling (heating and cooling), it worked fine after reseating the card. If that's not the case, then the card may have failed. Also maybe search Google for "reflowing Nvidia video card" and "faulty nvidia cards". Don't remember details and not sure if your card is affected , since I'm more of ATI guy, but there was a lawsuit and a lot of stink about some Nvidia cards with faulty soldering inside the GPU. Good luck fixing it.
