    Looking for recomendations on SSD

So I use W7 on my HP EliteBook 8730w with an Intel 520 SSD(180gb). Now from what I understand me being on Sata ii means if my next laptop is Sata iii I will see double my speed.

I am wondering if it is worth it to reformat my current SSD(1.5yr old) or buy the new latest and greatest? Would I even notice a difference? My current uses are general internet use, and that's about it. I do some video editing from time to time, and am looking forward to USB 3.0 so I can backup my files faster.

I doubt it. It's the access times that give SSDs their kick.

You probably won't notice a performance boost by installing a different ssd so the main reason to get a new ssd at this point would be if you wanted more storage space, go from that 180GB to 500GB for instance.

I use two brands of SSD's. Intel and Samsung. They both work quite well.
I have tried them on SATA II and SATA III and in everyday use I can't tell the difference.

I do stay away for Marvell supported SATA and stick with Intel supported SATA.
