HDD not detected in 7, but in Vista

Hey. One of my hard drive is not showing up in Windows 7.

Here's an attachment of my hard drives. It's in Swedish, but it's just one little thing which I want to know about.

    SATA 320Gb ( D: )
    298,09GB NTFS
No Errors (System, Active, Primary Partition)

now, why does it list as system? I've never had any windows of any kind installed on this Hard drive. This one does not show in Windows 7. What can I do to make it work?

I had windows 7 installed, but I recently installed my Vista again because of this problem, but I want 7 instead and want this problem fixed.

2 reasons it lists D: as system. Because bios is set to boot from that drive and because your system's bootmgr and boot folder are on there at root.

The only way to diagnose why it doesn't work in 7 for you is for you to actually be running 7. You could post a screenshot of disk management from there. And also device manager, showing the disk drives maximized. Do the same for IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers, and Storage Controllers.

Threadstarter, did you get it fixed? And if so, how?

I'm facing exactly the same problem.
