Hard Disk can't read in "my computer ", "initialized",I/O device error

I have a big problem here,
I have used my hard disk for 9month,
Yesterday when I watched movie on the half way,
    My hard disk suddenly disfuntion,
And I thought my laptop problem due to always lagging so I restart my computer.
But after that I can't read my hard disk (WD)in my computer.
It can read in computer management there.

    Ways I try:
1)I try to uninstall and reinstalled again,BUT it doesn't work.
2)I try to unchecked the hide folder and device at view.
3)I try to update the software BUT it still disfunction.
4)I try to use disk management and initialized it BUT there appeared CANNOT INITIALIZED Due to I/O device error.

    Any solution for me ?

The most usual cause is that the Hard Drive is beginning to fail. Back up your stuff. Go to the website of the manufacturer and test the drive.

Try the external HDD on another working machine and check whether it works.

In case it works, post haste copy all the data into another external drive.

For the present post a screenshot of Windows Disk Management. ( Please remove all other external HDDs and flash drives. Only your problem drive connected.)

Disk Management - Post a Screen Capture Image

Please hide the Console Tree and Action Panel by clicking on the icons in the top tool bar so that we get a full screen view with all information.

Here is a case when the OP with the same problem, found it worked on another PC Unable to initialize external HDD in Disk Management due to I/O error

May be ladyluck will smile on you too :) (whether I smile or not). Let us see.

You are very welcome. A defective hard drive is very common. Glad that we helped you find out in time.

Hopefully u haven't sent it yet, because 99% you will NOT get back any of your old data (in case you needed it :))
