    Hard Drive Copying Problems

For some reason I seem to be having serious issues copying stuff from my backup hard drive to my new install of Windows 7. I seem to be able to use these files right off the hard drive perfectly fine, but when I try to copy them over to my main hard drive they copy extremely slow (~1mbps) or just not at all. I've tried killing all but the necessary apps, but it still doesn't want to work, what's going on? I think I'm about to have a panic attack because of this crap.

Give Teracopy a shot. See if it performs better for you.

Check in your bios to see if you have AHCI enabled under sata configuration, or raid - unlikely, but someone else may have set it. If so, and you have an intel mobo you need to install the intel matrix storage manager (if it isnt already installed) for correct functionality.

You will find it at the intel site - http://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx
Select chipsets - chipset software - intel(R) matrix storage manager - Select Operating System - select W7RC1 (64bit OR 32 bit) - select drivers - select intel(R) matrix storage manager 8.9.0.1023 - download and install.
(make sure you don't download the floppy configuration utility by mistake) - it will show up if you select utilities).

If you have an nforce board you might try their latest chipset drivers : http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
