Sound and wireless internet won't detect the devices; possible virus

I left my pc on over the weekend and when i returned, the wireless wouldn't connect and the sound was off. I went into settings for the sound and could only pull up the empty volume mixer that simply stated that there was no audio device installed. clicking sound, manage audio devices or change system sounds had no reaction. For the wireless in the network and sharing center it lists unknown where the network map should be with "The dependency service or group failed to start." below it. The last porgram I installed was a Youtube downloader two months ago and it had worked fine with daily use since this past weekend.

One additional note, the web and mail shields in Avast won't start but i don't think that matters since i can't connect to the internet.

Welcome to the forum Abzorbix! Is the wifi adapter listed in the device manager under network adapters? And have you run the free version of Malwarebytes?

Have you attempted a restart first?

Does safe mode with networking work?

i've tried shutting down and even recovery but the recovery files say they are of the wrong type. Safe mode with networking has the same problems.

This isn't for certain but I think something might have been removed or replaced in the registry for the login process thats making it so that certain things won't start up properly. I get this message every time it starts up.
"Failed to connect to a windows service - Windows could not connect to the System Event Notification Service service. This problem prevents standard users from logging onto the system. As an administrative user, you can review the System Event Log for details about why the service didn't respond."

Log into the built in admin account using safe mode. Look in event viewer under system and please list the last 5 errors listed please.
