i have no disk for windows7 and will not go to command prompt screen

I am trying to fix my daughters laptop, it will start but will not load windows,when I click to go to command prompt it just stalls then gives a message that windows could not complete the installation, then restart,then the same message over again.....they got the laptop from a pawn shop and it didn't come with a disc.

Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit

Well; in order to fix that you definitely will need the windows disc. you probably will have to contact microsoft to buy a disc. Thats the only way i know of to do this. unless you can get a hold of someone elses windows 7 disc to try the reinstall/repair of windows.

Is there a "Certificate of Authenticity" sticker anywhere on this laptop? Possibly in the battery compartment?

If it is an Acer, you may be able to restore Windows to factory state.
