What makes my USB power turned on when computer is off?

    Hi!

Bought an USB fan to my som today but it does not work untill he turns the computer on.
Mine works even when my computer is off. Is this a feature in the psu or software related?

    The mobo is MSI-7623.

Some Motherboards have Battery Charging support which can be enabled in the BIOS .. Also need to check in the Power Management for the USB devices to uncheck the Allow the computer to turn off...

Yes on Boot up if you look closely there will be a message on screen that indicates which key you need to press in order to access the BIOS. Could be F1 F2 F8 ....

My MSI Motherboard's Driver Package on the included CD had a driver that would keep the USB ports active upon computer shutdown to allow for continued charging of USB connected devices after shutdown. I can't recall the driver's file name, but I recall I did not install it after I read what it did. Check your driver pack.
