Epson printer Interferes with Roxio Video Copy & Convert

This has been an on-going problem, and this is a last ditch attempt to find a solution. The problem has been posted on the Roxio community forum looking for a solution without success.

With the Epson Stylus Photo R320 printer turned on, Roxio Video Copy & Convert opens but becomes unresponsive. Turning off the Epson printer and Roxio Video Copy & Convert opens and functions successfully thereafter.

Here's what the event viewer shows; "These drivers are causing Windows to stand by or hibernate slowly." Name: USB Mass Storage CRVS Driver; File name: USBSTOR.SYS; Publisher: Microsoft; Device: USB Mass Storage

From the Windows Printer Test Page, the driver name listed is; UNIDRV.DLL;Driver version: 6.00, plus a number of additional files used by this driver, all of them spool drivers.

Epson does not list a Win7 driver to download for this printer and that may be the cause of the problem. However, this same problem occurs in Win XP with Roxio Video Copy & Convert and this same printer. Epson does have drivers for Win XP.

Of course, the easiest solution is to turn off the printer when using Roxio Video Copy & Convert. However, it would be informative to learn of a possible solution. Thanks for any input.

What exactly are you trying to use the Roxio Video Copy & Convert software for? Have you considered using alternative software?

Video Copy & Convert is used for the purpose as defined in the title of the program. Yes, but how do I know if the same problem might occur with another program. Moreover, I really don't want another program on the computer. If you have a possible solution please suggest one.

Because sometimes software provided isn't all it is cracked up to be. Are you trying to scan something?

Not scanning. It's used to convert videos that I have.
