Loss of SATA connections

Recently I installed a four port card to get extra USB 3.0 access at the back of the Ivy.
Since then my two front docks SATA ports do not show up with a drive in them and I have tried the remaining internal SATA ports with the two hard drives I have - one that was in the dock and one I had spare for a while ago (1TB Seagate). Both have not been used very much at all and the dock drive (500GB Seagate Barracuda) I transfered data to to unclog the original 120GB SSD I had as the boot drive.

Have tried all the three empty SATA ports on the board (one gray two blue) and although the drives are spinning there is no recognition in Computer or the BIOS?? I have also tried new cables and even ran SFC and a chkdsk with no errors.
The only drive that do show up are the C: boot SSD and an external I have connected to the rear four port card for my regular system image.

Have checked the Device Manager and the only yellow triangle is the Netwrok one it has always been there causes no problems.

Could the add in card be cutting out the internal SATA ports I have been using - unlikely I am thinking but am at a loss as to what is happening.

Sorry late reply TV I shall have to do that tomorrow after I have read it and have it in my mind what I have to in the correct sequence never having done this before. If the removal of the card and resetting the machine works then I might just give the card to elbow as I only wanted an extra tow USB ports at the the back of the machine.
It juts grates me that they do not put enough ports in to take the hardware as one has to use hardwired and having to take up two with those through cables for the front USB 3.0 ports is very annoying.

Could you post a picture or website of the 4 port card you are trying to use?
I'm curious where it plugs into ect.

John, is this that card you were having trouble with identifying the drivers for a while back? I thought it had some SATA connections on it, but I could be mistaken. That could definitely cause an issue for you of it does have SATA on the card.

John do the drives show up in Disk Management window? Also try the diskpart and list disk command to se if they are shown there.

Sony late reply and Jack the card is this Astrotek 4 Port Renesas USB 3.0 PCIe Card [AT-CPEU3N4] - $35.00 : PC Case Gear it is plugged into the spare PCI slot as the very small ones were either blocked of by the GPU or just did not work. All in all in any of the slots it was very sloppy. See pic

Mellon Head yes mate it was that one I was having trouble with and I am not sure of what i did re drivers if anything at all.

Gary no mate it isn't showing up in diskpart in the pic the other drives are all for the card reader. see pic.

Try putting the front docking bay cables into two if the light blue SATA ports.
Your device manager shows no drivers for Renesas USB 3.0.

If you mean the through cable ones they are already in two of the 3.0 ports (why it couldn't be a one port dual cable baffles me) and the card well what a shambles with the driver - download it and I get a Windows Media screen asking me to use the computer for viewing TV!! I think I shall just whip the thing out and have one of those el cheapo USB port extenders plugged in at the back as this internal card thing is just a joke.
I have contacted the suppliers and see what they will say but I am guessing it will be RMA but for $35 and the possibility of another failing card it isn't worth the grief.
This could all be avoided if the board people put enough ports on the back of the board front ports I have aplenty but I only use them for quick stuff such as importing photos etc.
