    Printer problem

    Purchased a Cannon LBP6000.
Installed but gives a communication error.
The error comes on then off so fast it is hard to read.
It will print but will not shut off(keeps printing).
    Installed the driver several times.
Changed out USB cords with no change.

I attached the printer to an old laptop and it worked properly.

    I run Windows 7 Home Premium on a Dell Vostro 260S x64.

    TIA

Hello and welcome ES1 mate some system specs would be really good for starters.

System Info - See Your System Specs

Now I don't know where you got the driver from but if it was a Windows feature one then try this instead as I ma not a fan of the Windows driver search stuff

I tried several times on the specs.
I am an old man and very dumb.
When I do the system spec procedure it just puts back in what I already entered and nothing else.
I deleted what I entered in and did save changes but it still comes back and fills in only what I entered the first time.
    I will keep trying.

Good to hear mate and when you get chance run the chkdsk as it checks the disk rather than just the OS as SFC does. If you run it and it comes up with any problems then you might nee d to run it again with the /f or even the /r "switch" in the command line.

If you need to posy in the tutorial if you are unsure of anything as Brink the fellow that composed it is an expert and a thoroughly nice man and will be more than pleased to help you out as indeed we all will so once again don't stress out by asking what may seem to be obvious questions - we all started off in uour position:)

Excellent job on the specs ES1!! See you are not so dumb as you thought you were as always it is just a matter of asking.
Now we had better run those malware scans I mentioned previously they do not take long to do either.
