Wireless connection drops out when USB 3 connected

Whenever I connect a device to either of my USB 3.0 ports my internet connection drops out immediately. My Netgear WNDA3100v2 wireless dongle is connected to a USB 2.0 socket on the back panel of the mobo.

The reason I am posting this here is that I had this same problem with a previous Gigabyte mobo, so I don't think it is a mobo issue, and Netgear support is non existent. The other common denominator is my Windows 7 version.

Any other ideas why my connection drops out please?

I did some searches on Google and came up with others having the problem but did not see a solution. I just recently got a USB 3.0 card. I have some things hooked to it and have not had that problem. One thing that hits me is that my card has a plug for additional power. I have mine hooked up. Does yours have a molex plug and is it hooked up?

Hi, thanks for the reply. I have solved the problem using the forum effect to it's best.

I had searched loads and found nothing so I decided to post here. Then I searched seven forum some more and I found, through a related link at the bottom of one of the pages, that USB 3.0 emits a signal at 2.4GHz. This is the same frequency as some wireless dongles (I know you all know that but bear with me). If the USB 3.0 device has poor shielding it can cause interference when placed in close proximity to the dongle. So I moved my hard drive and splitter to the other side of the desk and bingo! Problem solved.

Bit of a design flaw there, I think.
