    USB 3.0 through old extender.

I currently have a USB 3.0 port and a 3.0 USB drive. If I use an old USB extender to connect the two will it still carry the signal at 3.0 speed or will it carry it at whatever speed the extender is. The extender is just a basic one.

The extender must be USB 3.0 also. Otherwise, it falls back to USB 2.0
