    Intractable Printer Problem

Hi all, I consider myself a pretty good technician (I am shop manager at a repair shop), but I have one I need a little help on.

I have a bog standard Dell Inspiron laptop, Win 7 HP 64bit with SP1. Core i5, 4GB RAM. Newer model, has USB3.

Wireless Lexmark X6650 printer. Printer and computer on same network. When printing a job or two will print, then it will stop printing and jobs will backup in the queue. Sending app does not matter.
The Spooler service states that it is running, however, restarting it fixes the issue, at least for a while.
    Adding other printers works.

I have removed drivers and installed newest from lexmark, still no love.

All I find on google is the spooler actually stopping, which isnt the case here.

    Thanks in advance.

Brad I have to assume you got those drivers from HP and the Windows feature which I ma not a great fan of?

Personally I would start of running these two if you haven't already.

https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/433-disk-check.html< if necessary include the /f switch in the command line as per Option2 - if necessary the /r switch too.

I got the drivers directly from lexmark, as stated in my post.

SMART stats, chkdsk, and SFC all are good (was checked in a previous service less than a month ago).

Next step is going to be to connect another PC to this printer and see if the problem replicates, but that wont be till monday.

Sorry mate I got that wrong I thought it was HP
Now I am assuming that you have this cable connected ?? if so just check out the USB ports in Device driver and see if there are any yellow triangles there.

The use case for this printer is wireless. I have not tried with a cable but will.
Device manager is clean. Standard protocol at my shop is to make sure all drivers are good and working (if not the newest available).

Ok Brad try the cable mate as I have problems with wifi stuff and trying to hook up a Canon once before with wifi was a nightmare to be honest so I gave up trying - for the sake of a cable for me it was a no brainer.
