Could you please give us some more details about your system, etc.

Was the maxtor 360 ext working on a previous system, if so what ?

Can you test it on another system presently ?

i was using it on vista 32 bit system. I had to hooked up to the cpe when i ran the win. advisor it had no problems. I am using win 7 professional now when i try ti use it i can't open it. it shows up as unallocated in disk management. i am going to try it on another cpe later on today and see if i can get my info off of there and then reformat it and use it in 7.

I had to get the driver files from seagate in am email. I downloaded the drivers to a 32 bit system re-attached my maxtor mini and unlocked it. I had to remove the drive pass (no password) to open up in windows 7. I can still transfer files and pictures but can't lock it in windows 7. Customer support isnt sure if support is coming to the mini in the 64 bit realm. may have to get another external that works with windows professional. At least my files, and pics and music are intact though.
