Any of the major brand names can be found from $14 to $24 USD.

    LG, HP, Samsung, Liteon, etc

Asus, Lite-On, Samsung, HP, Sony are all very good. I always go cheap with premium Lite-On's and I'm very happy.

DVD drives have descended to the commodity level. Pick the cheapest of the common brands and hope. You shouldn't have to pay over 15 to 17 bucks. Grab the one on sale.

I like the Sony Optiarcs. I have an AD-7260S that's over three years old and works great. I went with the Sony because it was a name brand yet it didn't have the white lettering plastered all over the front. It's all black and goes with my all black case.
