Hello and welcome neituach mate I am having some difficulty in picking out what you are saying but am assuming you are using some software other than the Brother stuff ? cc4?? to scan ? documents pictures?

I am just curious as to why you are using addon software when the machines own software should do what you want to do.

Some system specs would be appreciated too mate.

Righto mate so you can click on the screen Scan but not the actual button on the Brother machine :)

So I am guessing maybe the USB drivers may be at fault so if we could have some system specs mate we can track something down for you.

In the meantime have a look in Devices and Printers and see f there are any faults (yellow triangles)showing up in there and also in Device Manager (Control Panel) see pic

Well it is hard to see why the firewall would stop the printer button itself work. Personally I would try uninstalling the printer software and reinstall it - a pain I know but it may just be a slight glitch in the software install.
