    Changing second drive label.

So I added a drive label and now cant figure out how to remove it, seen in the image provided I want to remove the words "HotSwap".
UPDTE: It seems that the "HotSwap" is attached to the drive letter, not the drive as any drive on G gets the label.

Open an Explorer Window to Computer. Right click on the G: drive then click Properties at the bottom. At the top of that window should be the drive label. Just click in there and backspace it out or use Del key. When it is blank, press OK.

Under what tab should this appear, as I am not seeing it. Under general on one of my standard HDDs their is a spot to type in the name of the drive but that is not what I am looking for.

That's the label of the drive. Please post a screen shot of the USB drive after it has bee right clicked in Explorer and Properties selected.

See attached images. PropertiesG is the drive I am trying to change while PropertiesD is a normal drive on the same menu. Please note that the text box displayed on PropertiesD is no the label I am trying to change as it is the label of the drive, not of the drive letter.

OK. Explorer hanging onto the label of the last disc inserted in the optical drive has been a bug forever. I don't know any way to get rid of it.

If anyone else know a fix please chime in.

You could try this registry fix, or get some superuser to do it for you. But make a Restore Point first in case the registry gets messed up
