How to Move Win 7 OS to a PCIe SATA 3 card.
Ok I've look around and don't see this addressed I'm sure I missed it somewhere
Here's what I need to know for sure.
I purchased a PCIe SATA 3 4 port card its running a Marvel Drivers
My spec on in the my spec section.
I have this card installed and drivers installed in windows 7
I have a clean install windows 7 pro running AHCI mode on a onboard SATA 2 Port
I wish to move this OS drive to this new SATA 3 4 port card
Currently I have 3 ports used Port 0 is a blank Liteonit 256GB SSD: Ports 1&2 2 WD 1 GB Blacks with data. and port 3 empty awaiting my Win 7 OS Samsung 830 SSD.
My Plan is to set up a win 7 pro and win 8.1.1 pro dual boot
What I need to know is it possible to move my Win 7 SSD to this PCIe card port and would it boot or is there something I can do to make it boot. I want this win7ssd booting before I set up the win8 dual boot.
I am more than nervous about this as installing this card broke my previous Dual boot and broke both my Win7 install and win 8 install. Restoring Images and Repair installs would not make either boot, I believe this was due to the fact that I had both these OS SSD on my 2 onboard Marvell SATA3 ports I'm assuming the new Marvell drivers conflicted with the older ports. I now have these 2 ports disabled in my BIOS and Win7 clean installed on an onboard SATA 11 port
