Looking for a Pata SSD or SSHD

My wife's first laptop - Vista from Febr. 2007 - is very slow. It has a 5400RPM HDD with a disamel 3.9 WEI.

Since the wife keeps holding on to this thing - it's her pet although she does have 3 modern laptops with SSDs - I wanted to upgrade the disk. Unfortunately it is Pata (IDE) and there are not many options.

Did anybody ever upgrade a 2.5" Pata system with a fast disk ??

Thanks Bruce. Those are useful options that I saw earlier. Problem is that I have to find them here in Germany. But those are good leads.

I was really looking for someone who has put one into his own system - kind of an experience report. The proposed makes are all not mainstream and I do not know how well they would do.
