Very High CPU usage on games - programs.

Hello :)

So.. i've got an issue with my cpu (which i'm 100% sure it is around).

It seem to run with very high usage on games, programs, etc.. (approx 25-35% cpu usage).

My cpu is a i7 3.4ghz cpu (which shouldn't use that much at ALL).

It started ever since my first reinstall of windows. my cpu seems to go "berserk", and aswell my graphic card seems to be affected by it aswell. with very poor fps, frame lagg and whatever not (i'd guess it's the cpu fault, as i did change my graphic card)..

so far to resolve the issue, i've tryed to reinstall windows (to home premium, ultimate, xp, etc), bought new motherboard, harddisc, graphic card, ram.. basically everything been replaced once, beside the power supply, cd drive and cpu..

i tryed something called cpu-z.. heres the result:


of what i heard, it seems normal and nothing wrong with it.. which makes me even more confused..

the cpu is not overclocked (i wouldn't touch it, i'm simply an idiot to such things, so i'd break the cpu if i tryed :/)

so i'm here for general suggestions, overall ideas for it.. I can provide more info if needed.

If you say that it is using 25-30% while you are playing games. I would say, it is normal. But, yes one thing you should be concerned is the temperature of the CPU and GPU. Does the PC shuts down randomly? If not, then its ok.

it used to take approximately 2-5% cpu.

If i have anything on my other monitor or anything open in the background (overally shown) it will cause lagg, strange lagg. weither it's notepad or firefox.

I've cleaned my pc a few times and seems to be fine.. all there really made it go like this, was a reinstall. it was perfectly fine before :/.. like, let's take a game named runescape, it would use approximately 34% cpu on the client.. the other game osu, is just in the menu and it takes 20-25% cpu just on that. if not minimised.. if it's minimised, it would use 10-14% cpu (which i find really high).

i know theres more games behaving like this and programs for that sake. i just noticed those 2 mostly.

I'm going to be honest with you. I think you are looking in the wrong place. Nothing is wrong with the CPU usage you are claiming. Your usage is not high at all. 100% is high CPU usage, not 30%. To say your CPU used to only be 5% usage during gaming is nonsense.

You said you changed the graphics card, what did you change from? Lets be honest, the Gt 630 is a very low end card.

well.. either looking the wrong place or missing something, and the cpu part is correct.. the game osu, is just during the menu and the menu overally doesn't take that much. if we compare to what i used to use and what other use on the game, it's way to high. people with worse cpu, use less... overally it takes to much cpu..

it may be else were, but overally i really doubt it. as i changed graphic card for the solo reason, i couldn't fix it on my previous card. I figured changing graphic card would help, but no.

i ended up replacing invidual component since it didn't work as it should and now i'm here, with just the cpu, power supply and cd drive, to be replaced.

i'm open for suggestions, but i don't see how the graphic card would be issue :/

why does it say "aviable graphic memory", like.. the card itself was only 4gb overally..

and another thing, i looked up everywhere and i can't seem to find a good palce to check what is a good card or not, by the name.. so

is this card anything good : GIGABYTE - Graphics Card - NVIDIA - PCI Express Solution - GeForce 600 Series - GV-N650OC-4GI

it's the cheapest gtx, with 4gb theres available here.. so i want your view on that :/..

(i'm up for trying to change graphic card again, to check if that's whats the issue, since you said it was low end card or well..)
