Turning off the touchpad on my Asus notebook?

Hello people. I would like to request assistance. I need to disable the touchpad on my Asus G74Sx notebook. Is there some kind of program I can download that will allow me to disable the touchpad?

Pressing function F9 does not disable the touchpad, and going into the BIOS and disabling the internal pointing device also disables the keyboard, so that doesn't work for me.

I have downloaded all the drivers for my notebook numerous times, and I don't know what else to do to try to turn off this touchpad. Going into the control panel and disabling the touchpad that way, also doesn't work.

I run Windows 7 Home Premium.

    Please assist me

    Thank you very much

Just to be sure, you are holding down the Fn key while you press F9 key, right?

If so and your touchpad remains enabled at all times, then you either have keyboard driver problems, or the keyboard itself is failing.
