i7-4790k keeps rebooting

I recently purchased a new i7-4790k, I had a msi g45 gaming MB which didnt support it so I had to update the bios. Once I did that it worked and I was using it fine for about a day. It recently shut off and then it started to constantly reboot.

It wont post it just boots for a second and then constantly reboots. I took it out and replaced the thermal paste thinking it was overheating but that had no effect.

I've got a 550W PSU so I'm not sure if it needs more power as I'm running a gtx 660 with 16GB of ram, 3 HDDs and a aftermarket cooler which uses 2 fans.

Am I wasting my money on a 4790k?

Intel I7 4790k Turboboost enabled but not working
I have Turboboost enabled in the bios. It says its on. Its supposed to boost to 4.4ghz, stock 4.0. When I check Computer Details, its still 4.0ghz. I have experience and don't mind overclocking manually, however, I would much prefer to first try turbo boost and see how that works. I might find I...

i7 4790k or i5 4690k?
I need to know which one to get. I easily have the money for the i7, although I don't want to spend unnecessarily, obviously. My main usage is going to be gaming but I will also be doing RAM intensive applications such as multimedia editing (photo and video mostly). I don't know if the...
