Okay well all that's left is the unknown device which you said pointed to the USB 3.0 slots even though they work.

    Hey same prob,
My pc had overheat problems few days ago. Actually not overheat the temperature would increase. I changed the location of my pc and now it is fixed. NVM, but I reinstalled my windows too, same as before, 7 ultimate 64 bit. Now my USB not working. I have USB 3.0 and 2.0 as well. But I don't know which is 2 and which is 3. My keyboard and mouse are working only on 2 ports, I think those 2 r USB 2.0. I reinstalled drivers, did everything and also followed this thread, but nothing. Here is my pc info:

    Manufacture: MSI
    AMD A10-7700K APU with Radeon(TM) R7 Graphics.
    8 GB ram
    Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit.
    Amd A886-G45 motherboard.

    Pls help.

But I don't know which is 2 and which is 3
All the computers I've had to deal with were black for the USB 2.0 ports and blue for the USB 3.0 ports. I've also seen orange used for the eSATA ports when the computer had them. USB 2.0 is supported by the BIOS but the USB 3.0 ports need drivers for Windows.
