I think when it comes to editing videos especially; you are better off to upgrade the ram of your system if at all possible; as 8gb is not a lot when it comes to running editing programs that are heavy on ram usage. I think the cpu should be fine for what you are doing.

As mentioned when adding ram it's best to get matching pairs or a set of four for quad channel. Also go to mobo mfgr. and check for approved and tested modules and also note the maximum ram speed you should be able to as well install 16gb of 1333 mhz, or maybe you can get faster modules at 1600, 1800 or more mhz. speeds.

So the GPU and the CPU is fine? And can you recommend some RAM?

    These maybe?: Crucial DDR4 2133MHz 16GB (4x4GB)
    16GB Kit (4GBx4) DDR4 2133 MT/s (PC4-17000) CL15 SR x8 Unbuffered DIMM 288pin
As linnermeyerhere mentioned, you should go to your PC or motherboard manufacturer's support site. Look for your machine and it should have a list of compatible/recommended memory there.

I also think the recommendations about increasing your memory are spot on, and in your case probably better than changing the CPU for editing videos. If you do a lot of video encoding though, a more recent CPU maybe with more cores (as long as the software takes advantage of them) isn't a bad idea.

I'll check. Check the picture and if any of those seem good.

    Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3 1600MHz 16GB
Those seem to work with my motherboard. Do they sound good?

What ram modules are you using currently as 16gb of 1866/2000mhz. will be around $230 usd. You may want to try adding the same make modules if available? Say you have 2x4 1333 xyz brand add 2 more of same otherwise it's best but expensive to add 2x8gb or 4x4gb which will price out very similar and yes get at lease 1600 and best will be 1866/2000mhz. Otherwise live with the lag and save for a complete upgrade?
