    Logitech MX 500 & Windows 7

    Hi there,

I'm still using the old MX500 that worked perfectly under PX and Vista.
Now, under windows 7, it is recognized as 2 button mouse but it has more.

    >>Does anybody know how I can tell Win7 that it IS a 8 buttons mouse ?
I just need more buttons and a way to assign keyboard letters to buttons.

    Thx a lot!

Just install the software for the mouse, that should enable all its features.

    Have you tried it?
I really don't want to screw up my install because of a non supported driver.

By the way, I'm talking about the logitech MX500 mouse.

    Thx

Were you ever able to install software that helped you use the buttons on the MX500? Everything I've read says that you can't and I have been unsuccessful so far.

    No, I didn't try.

In fact, I can use most of buttons but I cannot reassign actions to them.

Bummer. I did try installing Mouseware, no go.

True the buttons are functioning, but one button on the top of the mouse doesn't seem to have a function and it was the one I want to reprogram.

Guess I'll need a new rodent. Oh Santa!

    Thanks manny42, have a treat!
