With SATA drives I've found it generally doesn't matter which SATA port the Optical drive uses as long as the BIOS sees it, also have seen it work best to keep SATA 0 for the first/bootable/OS drive [C:], again if the BIOS sees it as an HDD or SSD.
I agree with the above but worth trying just to eliminate the possibility that somehow that SATA port is physically damaged
Just to close the thread: Despite many attempts to solve done, no final solving solution has been found. The best I can do is to go to drive proprieties and deactivate/activate the device. At that point I give up. Thanks to all of you for helping.
my dvd / blueray writers dissappear from my system after the computer has been on for a while
or i startup and try to burn a dvd/blueray...now here is a hint i recently removed the dvd and installed a Hot Swap drivebay..that hard drive dissappears when when the blue ray dissappears... thaey ar on...
I just bought a HP P2-1117C desktop and the E-drive is a blueray multimedia optical drive with a burner. I have newly customized DeskTop, and i installed 1x DVD & 1x BlueRay Readers/Writers.
There are working properly ( at least i think that ), except when there is
NO DVD/BlueRay inside the Drivers;
it shows as Audio CD! this problem appears since the first time i starts my PC

tried Corel WinDvd does not support my intel 4000.
tried powerdvd always prompt for a update that never installs.
powerdvd support had no answers.
