Interesting subject. I have a new Lenovo laptop that came with a special Lenovo program tied into the Bios for power management that when plugged in will limit the battery to a 60% charge. This setting is for long turn use on AC and extends the battery life. If I plan to take a trip and want a fully charged battery it has a option to let the battery fully charge. I read somewhere (maybe Lenovo site) that if you remove a battery it should be stored with a charge of 80% or less to prolong its life.
