How do I stop Win-7 Home Premiun x64 from updating a USB 3.0 driver
I'm having constant USB 3.0 issues with my MSI Z97 U3 Plus board and I suspect that it could be the windows drivers and I was wondering how to stop windows from updating or installing them when I delete them so that I can only use the latest ones from the MSI website?
I have windows updates turned off so would it be as simple as just disconnecting the cat5 cable, installing the MSI drivers and then connecting the cat5 cable again, or would windows then try and mess with them again once online, even though I have updates turned off? I'm determined to resolve this but it sure is frustrating. Sometimes 3.0 works, then it just hangs, then it's slow and then it will give that msg that "your device would work faster if plugged into a high speed usb 3.0 port". It's kind of all over the place and it doesn't what type of device is plugged into it as it does it with any and all devices.
I did disable able power management to the USB Hubs so that windows can not pick and chose when to or when not to supply power to them, but that did not seem to do anything.
