PC will not detect new wireless adapter
I am confused as to why this card is not working. I purchased 3 AC cards for our new router in my apartment *
Rosewill RNX-AC1200PCE, Dual Band Wireless AC1200 Wi-Fi Wi-Fi Adapter, IEEE 802.11AC IEEE802.11a/b/g/n, Up to 867Mbps(5.0GHz) + 300Mbps(2.4GHz) Wireless Data Rates, USB3.0 Interface,
After receiving the cards, I installed the first one to my PC and at first it did not detect the card in my device manager, but after shutting down, reseating it, and rebooting my PC, the wireless card worked perfectly.
However, on my roommates PC it just will not detect the wireless card. He had a working wireless N adapter card already in his pc that was working. We unplugged it, put in the new card, and installed the drivers for the card.
However, in his device manager there is nothing showing up, and there is no devices in the other devices section. The light on the wireless card is not lit up, and we have tried reinstalling the drivers, reseating the card, and using Windows update just incase...to no avail.
After a few hours of trying to get it to work, I tried using the card on my other roomates PC to see if the card was defective..it works perfectly fine on his.
I am just confused as to why his PC, which already had a wireless adapter that was working in the same slot, wont detect the new one whatsoever (wont even show up in device manager), and still works on my other roomates PC.
The only thing I have yet to try is reformatting his PC. Any theories why this isn't working?
(SOrry for the long post btw)
