Moving files between two Bitlocked external harddrives closely freezes
Hello guys,
I am wondering if anyone can help me figure out what on earth is causing these strange freezes.
I have two external hard drives with these specs:
HGST HDS 5C4040ALE630 - 4 TB NTFS Partition - GPT
Hitachi HDS5C3020ALA632 - 2 TB NTFS Partition - MBR
(Both are encrypted with Bitlocker, might have something to do with it)
Both are hooked up via USB3.0 ports (with 3.0 cables) directly into the motherboard.
So what is the problem? Well I can access them both at the same time, no problem. I can copy and move files from one of the drives to my internal drives and vice versa, even at the same time. But, I can NOT copy or move files from one drive directly to the other. The transfer process will start but freeze after a few dozen megabytes and stay frozen until I cancel the transfer, and wait a few minutes for it to react.
I use TeraCopy, I have uninstalled and tried the normal windows 7 file transfer but that hasn't helped either. Furthermore, with windows 7's default file transfer I wasn't able to cancel it and I eventually had to shut down the pc.
So right now I have to move files from drive A to an internal drive C, then move the file from drive C to drive B. It is simply annoying and I do not understand what is happening.
I've also checked the drives, they have no errors, no bad sectors, they are running great (no noises either).
Any ideas? Thanks a lot in advance!
