    WIndows 7 Boot Error 0xc0000225

Hi Everyone i'm new in the forums and need some help with a problem i have, so i
recently bought a new ideapad z710 DOS only laptop and installed windows 7 on it
everything worked fine than i dual booted openSUSE on the same HD everything still
worked fine but one day when i turn on my PC out of nowhere Windows could not boot,
and gave me an error with status code "0xc0000225" and error message "the boot
selection failed because a required device is inaccessible", i can't boot to safe
mode (the error happens to early in the boot process) and i can't use a recovery DVD
cause for some reason when i put a DVD in the drive and try to boot from it the PC
just Hangs on the MB's boot screen forever(That didn't happen before).

p.s. i have technical know how so feel free to speak geeky.

    Thanks in advance...

"0xc0000225" and error message "the boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible"
No other message? No extra information listed?

    Linux still boots succesfully?

Are you using GRUB as bootmanager and is win7 just a boot entry?
Or are you using the win7 bootmanager and select linux there?

Can you boot to "Advanced Boot Options" by using F8? Select "Repair your computer". Does that work?

Well it also says to boot from a recovery DVD and chose "Repair your Computer" but that doesent work cause my PC just hangs at the motherboards boot screen if i try to boot from a live DVD, Linux boots normaly, i'm using GRUB 2 and i can't boot to advanced options cause the error occurs to early in the boot process...

The win7 bootmanager (launched if selecting windows in linux bootmenu) gives you error 0xc0000225! Can you please try Advanced Boot Options . "safe mode" is listed there? "repair your computer"? Has that F8 advanced boot worked before with linux in dual boot?

Can you see the win7 partition in linux and its files?

i can see and access my windows partition from Linux, and i can't access safe mode cause the error occurs imediatly as i chose to boot Windows, i know how and have bootable DVD's but for some reason when i try to boot from them the pc just hangs in the boot screen(that doesent happen with the same DVD's on other PC i own and dident happened on that pc before the error), i'm gonna try a live Pen Drive with "Make PE3" and see what happens...

You need to have a bootable DVD or USB stick a so called "win7 system repair disc" or just a win7 install iso. So none of them boot? Even a linux live cd doesn't boot? Is dvd drive still working... check in linux if you see the files.

F8 advanced boot should work. It is a problem with win7 bootmgr, its bootmenu, or a the win7 bootstrap file it is calling. All of them can be checked and rewritten in win7 recovery environment.
