    I can see the files yet they're gone. Help please

    Hi

    I was going to install Windows 7 on my PC but before I did i moved all my stuff (movies, music etc) to an external hdd. After the installation I wanted to retrieve my stuff, but I get a error message saying;

    Could not find this item

    This is no longer located in J:\. Verify the item's location and try again.

    The problem is I don't know how to fix this. I can still see all my files on the external hdd but I can't use them. They're even taking up the space on the hdd.

    Please help me with this, I'd hate for everything to go lost.

    *Mod move if needed*

    Xelian,

    Maybe not necessary to ask, but did you also tried to disconnect your external hdd and reconnect it?

    I hope your problem is solved soon.
