    750 GB HDD structure

    Hello there,
I have a question regarding a 750 GB HDD structure in order to figure out how to do a proper partition operation.

Toshiba MQ01ABD075 HDD is the subject, and as far as I can read, this unit contain 2 disks and 4 heads.
The big question is : are used only 3 disk surfaces of 4 and 3 heads of 4 ?
    Thanks,

The pdf shows that there are 2 platters. That means that there will be 4 surfaces and 4 heads, all of which will be used. Or maybe in a 750 GB drive only 3 surfaces are used. Only the Manufacturer knows for sure and they are unlikely to publish such information. The information shown is only for interest and has no relevance outside the drive. You would partition the drive as if you knew nothing of it's internal organization because it really doesn't matter.
