cheapest SSD possibly available?

Cheapest smallest (in gb) that can fit a windows 7 on it? i dont care for power savings or features or anything fancy smancy just whatever the cheapest smallest drive available is?

Perhaps this. Windows 7 x64 requires 20GB to itself. 40GB left for programs/data other than the OS.

Your system's manufacturer specifications state Serial ATA/300 or which is SATA II. That Patriot 60GB is SATA III but is backwards compatible. It's cheaper than the SATA II's I looked for (increasingly unavailable/obsolete).

IMO, its not worth going with a small SSD like this for primary/OS drive. Not just because your board only supports SATA II (exactly half the speed of SATA III), but also because you'll likely need to install some of your programs on a second drive with this, if they cumulatively exceed that 40GB extra. That is messy and opens you up to a plethora of potential problems (its really best to install programs on the OS drive, except for games, to avoid those potential problems). It's more complicated to restore files (as in the ones containing their settings and so forth) associated with programs if that happens (whereas with games, you generally only need to backup the save files in "My Documents". Reinstalling them isn't near as large of a hassle).

Anyway. If you're really going for it, I'd strongly recommend you partition an HDD to the same size of the SSD and make frequent image backups to it. When SSD's go, they go. No warning. Exactly like the flash sticks/SD cards. Just one of a few reasons I'm not on an SSD yet.

As far as size, I just got a Dell Venue Pro 8 with Win8.1 on a 32GB SSD that had 19.7GB usable and 9GB for the Recovery Partition. I added a 16GB microXD card for more storage, may need a 32GB as I get more into using it.

100$ is NOT CHEAP! my mom would NEVER buy something that expensive and small for that much money! I want Cheap as in can pay for it with birthday money cheap! i may not even need it for an os since i have a 500GB drive and a 250GB drive to store whatever on. or even just use it for some small games and stick pagefile on it. doesnt matter to me if it lasts for 2 seconds or 2 centuries its good enough if i can hold a game or two and a 4GB pagefile

When i google cheap SSD i get 400GB to 900GB drives that cost over 100$
I want under 40GB and under 50$

If you do not put your operating system on the SSD, you will not get any performance benefits. Just putting a game or the page file is not really useful for performance.

I have used a 60GB SSD for Windows 7 but it does not allow for much growth.

Normally when someone has a question for new hardware, budget and max price is important.

Now we now the max budget is under 50.
