I am using a Plextor M5Pro 128G for my system drive and a Seagate 2TB for data. The capacity of M5Pro is almost fully utilized. Instead of buying a new one with 256G, which is more expensive, I am thinking of buying a 128G and raid it with the old one to become 256G. However, there is no more M5 in the market, only M6S and M6Pro. I don't know if these M6 can be raid with the old M5. Please help.
Is there a particular reason you need them to be seen as a single logical drive, rather than just having them as separate drives in Windows? Using RAID 0 in a consumer environment never made sense to me. I've got five discrete physical drives on my desktop, and each has a purpose--256GB SSD for the OS, 1TB SSD for games, 250GB HDD for video recording storage (gonna swap to a larger one at some point, but no rush), 1TB HDD for downloads and user data, and a 1TB external HDD for my media libraries.
They should be able to raid together fine. The random performance will be the lesser of the two. No reason not to raid 0 and get a sequential performance boost along with the added space. Not that I have a lot of respect for Toms Hardware, but I think the results speak for themselves.

If I were purchasing my first SSD, I would choose larger. If I already had a good smaller, I would purchase another and raid them (which I did and am happy).
