    HP DC7600 Processor?

    I have an HP DC7600 with a Pentium 4 3.4ghz processor.

I understand that this machine will support dual and some quad cores.

I am of the understanding that upgrading to quad core, should show better performance than the single core Pentium 4.

What is the best quad core processor this machine will support?

    Here are the specs:

Standard L2 Cache: 2 MB, 1 MB or 256K depending on processor

    Chipset: Intel 945G Express

CPU Bus Speed Supported: 533 MHz, 800 MHz (Processors with a 1 GHz FSB are not currently offered on these models)

Standard L2 Cache: 2 MB, 1 MB or 256K depending on processor

    CPU Socket: LGA775 Socket

    Thanks,

    Lee

    Update:

I decided to hold off until my HP starts to cause problems. I have a friend who works at a PC store, who can put together whatever I want much, much cheaper than retail, and he can put the SDD in for me as he has all the disks and such necessary. I'll just have to restore my programs and such from Acronis once the PC is done.

Thanks for all the help and input! You guys rock!!
