My computer wont detect disks *more info in thread*

Whenever I try to put any disk whether it be a CD or a DVD it wont be read. When I insert a disk into the tray and then press the button to have the tray slide back into the computer it spins for roughly five seconds gives a single beep and then repeats three of four times and beeps one more time right before the disk tray comes out. Please help I can not use so many DVD/CD products I've bought recently and its just a large inconvenience.
    Thank you in advance.

    Welcome Frank,

CD/DVD drives are pretty cheap these days, and pretty cheaply built in most cases. It has probably failed and needs to be replaced. If you have access to one you could borrow and try out, this would confirm it for you. A new CD/DVD drive is about $20 CDN, probably cheaper in the states. As long as this isn't a laptop we're talking about, then they're more expensive.
