    Well done that man.
I meant to post this a few days ago,but I forgot.
I found a way round the problem as well. If you can find Broadcom Driver ver no 4.170.25.19 dated 25/10/2007 cnet or softpedia both have it.Install it ignore all windows attempts to get you to upgrade it. No need for the Netgear utility, works a treat. Straight up to 250Mbps.

Thanks this is working for me...well mostly. I am able to actually see networks now and connect to them. I have only gotten as high as 75Mbps and average around 39Mbps. Not perfect seeing how I was using a USB Linksys Wireless G adapter WUSB54G v4 and was constantly pegged at 54Mbps, but a step in the right direction. Either way, thank you for getting me this far.

    Win 7 64

It's bloody Aug 2010 and still no support for win 7 64????

I tried installing the hardware on my win 7 64 pc and the software refused to detect the hardware. I eventually got it to work by following mexicansoljah808's suggestion.

I copied the driver folder from the Netgear folder onto my desktop and then using the device manager pointed the driver at that folder and it installed correctly. Then I started the Netgear WN311B Smart Wizard and it detected the card just fine. I am up and running currently but it did take like two hours to figure this all out!

I should have researched the network adapter before I bought it. Buyer beware!

Edit: Apparently best solution is not to install the netgear software at all. Win 7 64 supports the WN311B. Just install the card and let Win 7 do the rest.
