Latency on external monitor from laptop

    Dear all,

I bought a new laptop a couple of weeks ago and connected it to an external monitor. It's Ben Q 1080p monitor and I noticed that when I plug it into my laptop and play a game on it (Injustice) I was getting quite bad latency. Not only had the game slowed down in speed, but the characters were out of sync with their voices.

I've always been a desktop man, so I don't understand why plugging an external monitor into a laptop will give latency. I purchased an HDMI 2.0 cable in order for it to work as I got no image with an HDMI 1.0 whatsoever.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

Have you updated the NVIDIA drivers? Many times, new PC's do not come with the latest drivers. Get them direct from NVIDIA.

Yes, everything's updated. I did a fresh install of all drivers and OS when I got it. It's not a problem with the drivers, well, at least being out of date that is.
