sd cards marked as write protected when they are not.
Windows 7 appears to determine that all my sd cards of all sizes are marked write-protected, even though they are not. What is the cause of this problem and how can I change it ?

Hello Bazza, and welcome to Seven Forums.
If you like, double check using the tutorial below to see if it may be able to help. :)

Just curious to know:
1. What exactly do you mean when you say "even though they are not"? Are you still able to write to those?
2. Do your external HDDs/Flash drives also throw out the same message? Or is it only your flash drives/SD Cards?
3. Are you making sure that the small toggle switch on the side of the SD Cards are in the unlocked position?
Hi Jumanji,
Physically the cards appear unlocked. No other drives of any kind return that message which is why I assumed that windows 7 has caused the problem.
Hi Brink,
Am about to watch the tutorial. Thanks for your suggestion.
You still did not answer the query whether you are able to write to those SD Cards.:)
Before we look into or blame Windows, try those SD Cards on another SD Card Reader - either separate or built-in - which are known to be good.
