A couple of queries on new laptop

I would appreciate if anyone who owns an Asus G750 series laptop can tell me two things which are a mystery to me
    1. At times the backlit keyboard will lose it's backlit function
    2. After adding a second hard drive ( a 1TB SSHD) I get a beep from time to time which bears no relation to what I am doing.

Now I have Googled these things a few times and can only find that Fn and F3 or F9 switches the backlit function on or off but neither option works for me and the beep well it is anyone's guess.

ad 1) check in the BIOS. The backlit may be set to a certain length of time. It could also be in the keyboard driver itself. Only Asus would know. I had the same problem with my Toshiba and we had to make an FFFF setting in some registry for it to stay on all the time.

    as 2) ni idea

Thanks to you both I have looked in the BIOS already and there is nothing that I can find that relates to the backlit stuff and the power settings I have set to high power - thing is there is not much to pick from in the keyboard feature no drivers nothing.

The one thing I did do was to download the update for Utilities from Asus and the USB 3.0 stuff from Intel and the backlit problem seems up to now to have gone and I do have some control over switching ti on and off whereas before I didn't.

The problem maybe is that because this machine was made for 8 and it is now 7 the drivers did not automatically back up even when I flashed the BIOS to get 7 drivers all a bit of a mystery. But for the time being it is staying lit up????

    Makes no sense to me
