How do I force Windows to create a backup on a removable hard drive?

Aaaannnndd Microsoft adds ANOTHER unnecessary and BUTCHERING addition to Windows 7 by forcing you to only backup on internal hard drives! Because that's SUCH a great idea!

Look I am really tired of all of the issues I have been getting with control of my computer with Windows 7, I am using an admin account and I SHOULD be allowed to create a backup on an external hard drive. Microsoft just disable it for no reason, or for a ridiculous one. So how do I force Windows 7 to allow me to back up a hard drive on an external one?

I'm no expert but I did find a couple and they have made tutorials that might be what you are looking for.

Many of the experts here (and I, although I'm hardly an expert) strongly recommend using Macrium Reflect. People seem to have fewer problems with it than with Windows Imaging.
