How to disable some specific USB ports
Hello all,
I have a Windows XP machine with Gigabyte EP31-DS3l Mobo. There are two ports on front panel and 4 on back. For some reason I want to disable those two front ones. That is I want to have just the backs worked and not the fronts. Is there any way to do this please? |

Hello Kurdman,
You can manually disable those two USB ports by disconnecting the usb wire on your mobo. that should looks like this: https://www.google.com.ph/search?q=u...ml%3B640%3B480 |

Thank you ShoTTaS. But how to find those two desired ports out of seven among wires?
And isn't there a software solution? |

You simply follow the wires from the usb ports back to the motherboard and pull them off.
You might be able to disable usb ports in the bios, but that might disable them all. I take it someone is putting things in the usb ports and you don`t want them to ? |
