Another thing i noticed is, when plugging in the faulty external it takes some minutes for the laptop to recognise.
In this same situation when i was using seatools for windows, if i plugged the faulty external in and hit the rescan button on seatools for windows, it would respond straight away but only show the c drive.
This is because the external was connected but was not recognised by the system and this usually takes some minutes to come up on the system.
So what i do now is, go to disk management and wait until i get a disk initialize prompt. This way i know the external has been recognised even tho it is unallocated. If this makes sense.
I would then try bootice once the prompt appears in scrnshot.
