    Invalid system partition

Hey, so I'm new. HI O_O. lol been racking my brain and lacking in sleep because I have been trying to find a way back into my install of Windows 7. Basicly It can't find my install. Start up repair with Win7 repair disk comes back "root cause found: The partition table does not have a valid system partition. Repair of course just doesn't seem to do anything. Have been at this for round 6-7 hours off and on. Though I am not very good with command line interfaces. Don't know if this is important but where it would say your windows directory in the log file it only says

    System disk= \Device\harddisk0
    windows directory =

Don't know if it being blank is important. If anyone can shed some light on what I can do to get back in or how would I go about getting some of my 2 days of data'/updating on to my other HDD?

PS. was reading earlier that the log file is kept in %windir%\system32\logfiles\srt\srttrail.txt I can only find as far as logfiles Can't find srt. Blah,

Boot 7 dvd to system recovery options command prompt. Type:

    Diskpart

    lis vol

( find the vol letter e.g C or partition number e.g. 1 for the system partition )

sel vol C ( or sel vol 1 , obviously use the correct letter or number)

    act

    exi

    see if that helps.
