RE: windows cannot print there is no printer installed

When I try to print out something on word, the following error message comes up. I can't print excel spreadsheets or webpages either - different error messages come up or the browser just shuts down. I have tried installing the driver but the last stage of this took a very long time and so i exited . I heard something about a "spooler" on other pages but I don't understand how this works. If anyone knows anything, that would be appreciated. I have gone into control panel too too see if printer is selected as default - actually the default printer is HP Deskjet 300 Series (Copy 2) and this has always worked.

    Thanks

Hi how are you sorry I didn't get back till now,

The exact model number is HP Deskjet F380. No I've only printer installed but in Printers and Devices there are two options HP Deskjet F300 Series (Copy 1) and Hp deskjet F300 Series (copy 2). Copy 2 is set to default. There are no error messages in this or any documents in the queue.

Try selecting printer #1 as default and see if it works. If it does just remove printer #2.
