removing "safely remove" for a SSD

The registry fix has come up many times in the past. It works for some people, not for others.
It is a workaround. The better solution is to have a proper working driver for your hardware.

If your SSD is not connected to the Intel chipset, that can cause the problem.

You have to click on the ssd in disk drives, not the sata controllers, like I showed you in post #6.

Your sata controller drivers look fine.

This Gateway is older and does not have Intel sata ports, only a standard SATA AHCI controller. Running at 3 Gbps, still fast. The SSD only gets a 7.8 LOL

Both the SSD and the HD show up as ejectable, I could care less :)

I would have to confir with WHS before making any changes.

AddRAM: I believe the setting you are referring to only applies to Write Caching. It is not the same thing as hot swapping - or the possibility of removing a fixed hard drive (of any type). The setting does apply to any removable drive however, either actually removable or a fixed hard drive incorrectly flagged as removable.

This is a shot of my SSD to show the available settings when it is recognized as a fixed hard drive:

There are no drivers on the disk.

Have you checked for drivers on the motherboard manufacturer"s website?

TV, the pic you have and the pic I have show/add a totally new setting for the same thing (drive) etc.

Write caching should, I say should still be enabled. Even if I change the Removal Policy to Quick Removal, I will experiment.

Once again, this is on the older Gateway GT5404 (original Vista HP machine)

Your shot #16 and my Sabertooth look exactly the same, except I have the bottom box unchecked.

Update; Changing that option does nothing, I will look into Havoc`s option, if the Gateway bios has that feature

Oh well, I can`t figure it out on the Gateway, made some changes in the bios, none had an affect. The ssd and the hard drive still show up as ejectable, but of course they tell you they are in use.
So I have no clue.

I guess not having Intel sata ports is the reason IDK.

After all, we are talking Windows 10 here, I suppose I could slap in the original drive with Vista and see if it shows the same.

Update= Same thing in Vista, only option I can see is to add a PCI sata 6 Gbps card with Intel sata ports, if such a thing is made. Or just live with it :)
